5 Essentials for Newborns and Beyond

When you’re a new mom and trying to register for what you’re going to need for a baby, it can be quite overwhelming. Everyone has their own must-haves that worked magic for their baby. The hard part about that is every baby is different, therefore each list could vary. I want to share 5 must-haves that worked for both of my VERY different children. Some of these may not work perfectly for your child but it can’t hurt to try some out!

Boudreaux’s Butt Paste: Maximum Strength– This is not a product I used or tried until I had Finley, my youngest daughter. Newborns poop 24/7 and it can leave their bottoms raw and uncomfortable. One product I had tried with my previous daughter was not touching the rash and I was desperate to help Finley. This butt paste not only immediately started relieving her of the pain and irritation but it also sealed the skin so it could heal in the meantime. This is now the only diaper cream I use! https://www.amazon.com/Boudreauxs-Butt-Paste-Ointment-Preservative/dp/B01LZF07GU/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1547133489&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=boudreaux%27s%2Bbutt%2Bpaste%2Bmaximum%2Bstrength&th=1

Munchkin Nursery Projector and Sound System– I have told everyone I know how necessary it is to buy this if you are wanting your kids to sleep alone from 4 months on. It is very affordable and the one I bought for Rowyn, over two years ago, is still running perfectly. Rowyn prefers it to play Mozart all night long and likes the projector to simply display an image from one of the slides instead of have the image turn. Finley likes the white noise and like the projector to turn the image. I love this product because it drowns out noises that could wake the baby and the projector often lulls the baby back to sleep. It has so many other features that you can customize to your baby’s liking. This is a must have! https://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Nursery-Projector-Sound-System/dp/B006SFUEF2/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1547134016&sr=8-3&keywords=sound+machine+munchkin

Young Living Essential Oils– Essential Oils have been a lifesaver for not only my kids but myself! My friend, Jacque, got me started right before Finley was born and I can honestly say that they will always be utilized in our house now. Essential Oils provide so many benefits to not only specific needs such as headache, stomach pain, sore muscles, etc. but they also protect from sickness, improve mood, relax the body for sleep, and so much more! My first oil purchase was for Rowyn, as she had croup and it was hard for her to breathe at night. I bought the oil “Snifflease” which is a blend that opens up the air way and aids in decongestion. I saw an instant difference and I was a believer in the way they were explained to work. Not only can you dilute oils for different uses and age groups but Young Living also has a pre-diluted kid’s line of oils. My go-to oils for my kids are Snifflease, Sleepyize (aids in sleep), Tummygize (relieves gas and upset stomach; this was used for Finley all the time when she had her issues with dairy), Copaiba (numbs gums during the teething stage). I could go on and on about how happy I am that my friend introduced me to essential oils! Thanks, Jacque! Feel free to reach out to her if you’re interested in purchasing from her or learning more. Tiny Love Tiny Princess Tales Take Along Mobile– This mobile is gold! This is a girl themed mobile but there are other gender themed mobiles for the same price. Not only can you attach this mobile onto a crib or pack and play but you can also take it with you on the go and attach it to the top of a carseat, which is how I use it for Finley. Finley was not fond of the car seat and I started to notice that she got excited watching toys move around in front of her. I knew that this would be the perfect solution to unhappy car rides. She is nearly 9 months now and smiles every time she sees it in the car. It turns and plays music and has an option to turn without music also. Generally, she plays with this with music on until the music lulls her to sleep. Such a good versatile product for a great price! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0789449T8?aaxitk=nRJjzquxSsHLGowkb1VNuA&pd_rd_i=B0789449T8&pf_rd_p=3ff6092e-8451-438b-8278-7e94064b4d42&hsa_cr_id=8953682640901&sb-ci-n=asinImage&sb-ci-v=https%3A%2F%2Fimages-na.ssl-images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F41osiri8fpL.jpg&sb-ci-a=B0789449T8&th=1

Sit Me Up Seat– This seat is something I never heard of until Finley got here. I started to get nervous, having two kids under two years of age, wondering how I was going to clean, cook, shower, etc. Once Finley was about three months old, she no longer wanted to lay back in a bouncer while I got chores done. I couldn’t hold her while I got things done or took care of Rowyn and luckily a friend passed this seat on to me. Finley loooved it and still does! She liked sitting up and playing with the toys attached to it. It also helped with keeping her from developing a flat head since she slept on her back for quite some time. I would recommend this to every mom! https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Sit-Me-Up-Floor-Seat-Blue/dp/B073H5NHDH/ref=sr_1_1_s_it?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1547137026&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=sit%2Bme%2Bup%2Bfloor%2Bseat&th=1

I hope you guys find this helpful and feel free to share it with other new parents for a reference!
